The console: a sidebar of workspaces on the left, the screen you’re on to the right.
Before you start: You reach the console at your brand's Longboard web address in a desktop browser. There's no password to remember — you sign in with a code sent to your email.

  1. Open the console URL in your browser. You'll land on the /login page.
  2. Enter your work email and request a sign-in code.
  3. Check your inbox for the code and enter it to continue.
  4. Wait through the brief boot splash. The console holds a neutral loading screen until it knows your role, then drops you on your last-used screen (or Sampling Schedule if that view is no longer available to you).

This is the same email-code login your Brand Ambassadors use — brand staff simply resolve to a console role and land in the brand workspace instead of the ambassador portal. (Longboard's own platform staff sign in a different way, through Microsoft, and never see your brand's screens.)

Find your way around the sidebar

The left sidebar is your map. At the top is your brand's name with the tagline "Field operations", then a Search box, then the workspace groups. Each group heading is a category; the items under it are the actual screens.

  • OPERATIONS — running tastings day to day: Sampling Schedule, Schedule Builder.
  • RETAIL — where you sample: Locations, Chains, Geography.
  • PEOPLE — who's involved: Users, Manager Coverage, Distributors.
  • BRAND SETTINGS — how your program is configured: Ambassador Onboarding, Billing, Program (your products), Integrations, Ecommerce (Shopify), Accounting (Acumatica), Notifications, Imports, Branding.
  • INSIGHTS — what happened and what to do next: Report Results, Analytics, Report Builder.
  • INBOXMessages from ambassadors on their events.

At the bottom of the sidebar you'll find a tenant badge ("Tenant: --" until it resolves), a "Saved locally" status, and the "Security" and "Sign out" buttons.

Read the top bar

Every screen shares one page header, stacked in three lines:

  1. A breadcrumb in the pattern "Group · Screen" — for example, "Operations · Schedule Builder".
  2. The H1 title, which is always the specific screen ("Chains", not "Retail").
  3. A subtitle describing what the screen is for.

On the list screens, the main action is promoted to the top-right of this header: "Add location" on Locations, "New chain" on Chains, "Invite user" on Users.

Jump between screens fast

  1. Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) to jump straight to the "Find a workspace..." search box.
  2. Type a workspace name — for example, locations or chains.
  3. Press Enter. The console opens the best match and confirms with "Opened <label>."

A few things to expect:

  • Prefix matches win, so a few letters usually get you there.
  • Only screens you can actually see are searchable. If a screen is hidden by your role or plan, it won't match.
  • Empty box shows "Type a workspace name, then press Enter."; no match shows No workspace found for "<term>".

You can also just click any sidebar item, or click a group heading to collapse or expand it — the console remembers your collapsed groups and your last screen for next time.

Who can do this

  • Admin / Owner — the full picture: Operations, Retail, People, Insights, Brand Settings, and Inbox. Only Admins and Super Admins see Brand Settings and the "Security" button (for two-factor setup).
  • Regional / Territory Managers — scoped write access. They see Operations, Retail, People, Insights, Inbox, but write is bounded to their assigned coverage. They do not see Brand Settings. Coverage is assigned on People · Manager Coverage.
  • Viewer — read-only. Same groups as managers (Operations, Retail, People, Insights, Inbox), but the create/edit/delete controls are suppressed on each screen. No Brand Settings.
  • Nobody on a brand team sees the System group — that's Longboard's platform console, not part of your brand console.

☀ Good to know
  • A missing sidebar item isn't broken. It's either hidden by your role (Brand Settings and System) or removed by your plan tier (for example, Schedule Builder, Ecommerce, Accounting, or Manager Coverage can be hidden on lower tiers).
  • A lock glyph means "upgrade to unlock." Distributors and Analytics stay visible but locked on lower tiers; clicking one shows "<label> is available on Swell and above — upgrade to unlock it." A locked in-page section shows a gray banner: "<label> is available on the <plan> plan — upgrade to unlock."
  • Wax Up is the free, pay-as-you-go tier — you're "billed only for the samplings your ambassadors claim." Swell is the tier that unlocks Distributors and Analytics.
  • The context metric strip appears on only three screensSampling Schedule, Schedule Builder, and Locations — showing at-a-glance counts (like This week, Pending approval, Needs staffing). Every other screen hides it.
  • The console remembers where you were. A refresh lands you back on your last screen, unless that screen is no longer available to you — then you land on Sampling Schedule.
  • The friendly Brand Settings names map to systems: Program = your products, Ecommerce = Shopify, Accounting = Acumatica.
  • "Console" can mean different things. Your brand console is the whole app. The System and Console groups are separate tools for Longboard staff and partner/agency users — not part of what your team runs.
⚑ If something’s not working
You see a blank spinner or boot splash for a while.
The console holds until it knows your role; a failsafe reveals the screen after about 8 seconds, so give it a moment before reloading.
You got signed out unexpectedly.
A toast reading "Your session has expired — signing you out." means your session timed out or went idle; sign back in with a fresh email code.
Your invite link failed.
A missing or dead token sends you back to login with an error — request a new invite from your Admin rather than reusing the old link.
A screen you expected is gone from the sidebar.
Check whether it's a role limit (Managers and Viewers don't get Brand Settings) or a plan limit (some screens are hidden on lower tiers). Locked-with-a-glyph items need the Swell plan.
You don't see the "Security" button.
That's expected unless you're an Admin or Super Admin — two-factor enrollment is an admin-only feature.
Your view differs from a teammate's.
That's by design: role and plan tier decide which groups and screens each person sees. Compare roles before assuming something's misconfigured.
